If you are a do-it-yourself person deciding to sell your home, this article will give you a few ideas to help. Hopefully, these ideas will save you some money. Dressing up the property by simply cleaning it up and making a few minor improvements will increase your sales.
  1. Start at the road. A well-maintained, neatly trimmed lawn, flowerbeds is lovely. Make sure you remove the grime and spider webs. Washing the outside of the house will brighten the colors of the house.
  2. Now we can move into the interior. Make sure to remove the personal things such as collections, photos, awards and antiques. These things tend to distract the buyers attention away from the home.
  3. Take out the additional furniture and untidy messes you might have. The rooms need to look as large and open as can be.
  4. Now let us move into the kitchen area. Here you should remove everything off the countertops. Place all the smaller appliances, cutting boards, paper-towel holders and other such things under the cabinets to hide them. This will increase the facade of your countertop space which many buyers' are looking for in a kitchen. Placing a pretty vase with a few fruits or couple of what-knots in there will give your kitchen area a better welcoming look.
  5. You can put all your personal or private items in the bathroom into the basket. Then, hide it under the sink. Place a vase of fresh flower in your bathroom to freshen it up some. Add new white towels, and hang a new shower curtain.
  6. You can give your house a fresh new look by painting it. This is one of the cheapest ways to do it. You do not have pay an arm and leg to buy a gallon or so of paint. The earnings on this type of investment will be enormous. The idea here is that you ought to choose the correct color of paint, which will appeal to better to the buyers.
  7. Always, remember to scrub the house inside out and from top to bottom. The cleaner the house the better chances the customer will like the house. Taking a little time to clean up the grounds around the home is just as important as cleaning up and repairing the house itself.
Dressing up the house or property makes it more appealing to the potential buyer. It can increase the price of the sale, which in turn benefits the seller as well as the buyer.
