Lone Tree: A Thriving City on the Outskirts of Denver

The city of Lone Tree is a suburb of Denver is located within Douglas County, although it is along the border with Arapahoe County. Lone Tree became a city in 1995, in order to ensure that the development of the area proceeded with the best interests of the local residents in mind.
Many of the amenities that are now available to the residents of Lone Tree were annexed to the city along with the RidgeGate planned community, which joined the city of Lone Tree in 2000. The Heritage Hills community and the neighborhoods of Centennial Ridge and Carriage Club were also annexed to Lone Tree, during 2001, along with some adjoining commercial areas. In 2006, Park Meadows mall became another annex of Lone Tree. The mall is one of the best shopping centers in the area, drawing in people from many of the suburbs around Denver.
The city of Lone Tree also has a range of other commercial areas, which provide residents with some excellent places in which to ship and dine. Many people come in to Lone Tree from the neighboring areas in order to take advantage of the variety and quality that is available in the city. The Entertainment District in Lone Tree is just one of the popular places for a night out in Lone Tree.
Lone Tree residents have access to their own recreation center, which provides a range of sporting and leisure facilities. These include a gym, an aquatics are that has lap and swimming pools, a running track, racquetball courts, a crafts room and multi-purpose rooms that can be hired out for meetings and events. The Lone Tree Arts Center will provide additional facilities including a theater and gallery.
The recreation center and the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District organize many different events and activities in Lone Tree, including fitness programs, sports instruction and art classes. There are also some beautiful parks and trails through the surrounding area.
The Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel is popular with many of the local residents, who benefit from reduced rates when they use the facilities. In addition to the golf course, the club has some excellent tennis courts.
Traveling into Denver from Lone Tree is very easy. The distance is less than 20 miles. Many of the people who live in Lone Tree commute to work in Denver, while it is also common for Lone Tree residents to visit Denver to enjoy the many theaters, restaurants and other amenities that are available there.
The school district for Lone Tree is Douglas County. This is one of the best educational systems in the Denver area.
